Mountains

Landscape The surroundings in every season. So that no summer photo sits on the site in winter, and the other way round.

Light

Time of day The same valley looks different in the morning than in the evening. We come when the light is right, not when there happens to be time.

People

Portrait The team that makes the business. Photographed where the work happens, not against a white wall.

Photos that exist nowhere else.

Photography happens as part of the web project, not as a separate job alongside it. Your rooms, your team, your goods. No stock library, no Canadian pot plant in the lobby of a business in the Enns valley.

What we photograph

We do

Everything that later sits on your site.

  • People at work: the team, the boss, the apprentice at the machine.
  • Rooms and buildings: guest rooms, workshop, dining room, façade, the lane outside.
  • Goods for the shop: cut out on white or staged, depending on the range.
  • Landscape nearby, in both seasons, so the site does not look like summer in the middle of winter.
We do not

And for that we know good people.

  • Weddings, christenings, celebrations. Others do that all their lives and do it far better.
  • Application photos and passport pictures. There are photographers in town for that, often cheaper than us.
  • A photo shoot with no web project behind it. We build websites; the photos belong to that.
  • Retouching until the goods look different from what is in the box. That comes back as a return.

How a shoot day runs

01

Shot list

Before a camera comes out, the site structure is settled. That determines which pictures are needed and what shape they have to be. Landscape for the header, portrait for the tiles.

02

The date

We come when the light works and the business can take it. For a hotel that means between two check-ins, for a workshop before the first customer. Usually half a day to a full day.

03

Tidy up first

The least popular part and the most important. Cables, boxes, the calendar from two years ago. An hour of tidying saves three hours of retouching and still looks better in the end.

04

Selection

A few hundred frames become the ones that are needed. You see the selection before anything is edited — the other way round would mean working on pictures nobody uses.

05

Editing

Light, colour, crop. Staying honest is the rule: the dining room must not look bigger than it is, and the goods must not look different from what is in the box. Disappointed guests cost more than a plain photo.

06

Handover

You get two versions: small and fast for the website, large and uncropped for everything else. Brochures, ads, social media — the photos are yours, with no licence period.

Photography, plainly put

OccasionAlways as part of a web project. No shoot on its own.
RightsThe photos are yours, with no time limit and no restriction on use. Brochures, ads, social media — all permitted.
DeliveryTwo versions of each picture: small in WebP for the website, large and uncropped for print.
PeopleAnyone appearing in a photo is asked and signs. Including your own staff.
WeatherExterior shots need a backup date in the calendar. We would rather postpone than deliver a grey picture.
TravelNo surcharge in the Enns valley, Pongau and Ausseerland. Further afield by arrangement.
ArchivingThe raw files stay backed up with us. Need a different crop in two years, and it is still there.
EquipmentNot listed here. You cannot tell from the picture which camera it was — and the guest who books certainly cannot.

Questions about photography

Do I need to prepare anything for the shoot?
Yes, and it is the part that pays off most: tidying up. Cables, boxes, promotional stands, the calendar from two years ago. We tell you in advance which rooms are on the list so you do not clean the whole building. Everything else we bring.
I do not like being in front of a camera.
Almost nobody likes being in front of a camera, and the pictures where somebody stares stiffly into the lens are the worst ones anyway. We photograph while you work: at the machine, at the stove, in conversation. That is easier for you and ends up looking like you rather than like a job application. If you really do not want to, it works without you — but a face on the site brings more enquiries than any building shot.
I already have photos. Are they enough?
Often for part of it, rarely for all. We look at them and tell you honestly which ones can stay. Two things usually fail: resolution, because the picture came out of an old brochure, and format, because the site needs landscape where you have portrait. Whatever can stay, stays — we do not reshoot things just so they come from us.
What about my staff appearing in the photos?
Anyone recognisable in a picture is asked beforehand and signs a short consent. We bring the form. It sounds formal but saves trouble if somebody leaves in two years and wants their picture off the site. Anyone who does not want to be in them is not, and that is entirely fine.
And if the weather does not cooperate?
Then we postpone the exterior shots. We set a backup date from the start so it does not become a drama. Interiors go ahead anyway — for those a grey sky is actually nicer than harsh sun in the window. Putting a building in drizzle on the internet helps nobody.
Can I use the photos elsewhere as well?
Yes, anywhere and with no time limit. Brochures, ads, signage, social media, booking portals. You get the large versions for exactly that purpose. There is no follow-up licence and no call from us if you are still using them in five years.
Can I book photos without a website?
No. The pictures come out of the site structure — only once it is clear which page needs which image in which format do we know what to photograph. Without that it would be guesswork. For a standalone shoot we know good people in the region and will happily name them. What we build is under Websites and online shops.
